Aim / Objective:  The main aim of our society is to help the poor. Visiting the poor families in their homes is the fundamental work of the society. Plan out rehabilitation programmes for such families and chalk out implementation of such programmes and make those persons self reliant.
History:  The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is an International Catholic Organisation of Lay Persons, founded in Paris in 1833 by Fredrick Ozanam and his companions. They chose St. Vincent de Paul as their patron and named the society after him. Now it has grown into 2500 conferences with more than 60000 members.

The Wadala conference was established in 1948 by Rev Fr. Rego of the Salesian Society with just 4 members. Today we are 22 active members from both Wadala East and West Parishes. In addition we have 10 auxiliary members. Our conference is registered with Charity Commissioner under Reg. No. D-86.
Coordinators:   Fr. Orville Coutinho (Priest In Charge)
Mr. Stan Dose (President)
Mrs. Bibiana D'Souza (Vice President)
John Mathews (Secretary)
Mr. Henry Naronha (Treasurer)
Activities: At present we have adopted 13 families 0both from East and West. We also distribute food grains to about 50 families monthly. We also assist in repairing house.

Visits to the poor families are done every week in groups to assist them materially and spiritually. Door to door collection as well as box collection and other types of collections are made to raise the funds. Good amount of this is spent on education such as school fees, books, uniforms even college fees. Three girls have completed college education and one has continued into Law College.

We have our own medical health clinic at St. Dominic Savio Church premises. Medical aid is given to about 100 patients every month. Two home doctors render their services in this clinic. Dr. M.F. Figueiredo M.B.B.S. and Dr. Anatha Krishnan M.D. In addition we provide medical aid to the poor for hospitalization, to deserving cases.

The society also runs tailoring classes with the help of the Canossian Sisters. This Year we Trained 11 girls who were awarded certificates by the society. The classes are conducted at St. Dominic Savio Church premises and at Vijay Nagar.

We also bear the funeral expenses of the very poor if need be. The average age of our members is 60. We want more youth to join us and experience the joy we get in helping the poor.
